I was inspired to do some new things for the new year and one of them is to introduce to you someone who’s been with me for quite some time and here he is– his name is Ogee, and he’s confused. Perhaps you can understand why; because he has two heads!

These two heads represent us more than we might like to believe. But in truth we are very much like Ogee.

I ask you, aren’t you often conflicted in your thoughts?

One good way to lighten our stress load is with humor and downright silliness. So play along with me.

Ogee said to me this morning, “Should I write that article or should I scroll through my Facebook feed?”

Like Ogee, you have two conversations going on in your mind practically all the time, am I right?

These conflicting thoughts are creating STRESS!

Ogee reminds me that conflict (in all its multitudinous forms) creates stress, so he will be with us. We’ll include him and his questions in our discussions often, so welcome Ogee!

For years I’ve been talking to businesspeople about how to relieve stress. Stress is debilitating so it’s vital that we understand its source. Metaphysically speaking, stress exists because we don’t recognize who we really are!

That’s what I want to talk about starting today

— the Triune Persona or Trinity that we are, body, mind and spirit

That’s our physical persona, our thinking persona, and our metaphysical or spiritual persona.

I speak from 40 years of metaphysical training and as an interfaith minister.

In western culture we’re all wrapped up in our bodies, right? What we look like, what we’re doing, what meds we’re taking for our bodily complaints, what we eat and drink, all of those body issues.

And secondarily, our mental state — we are very much focused on emotions, how we get along with people, worrying about our love relationships and our finances. All of that mind stuff.

So the body/mind continuum really is all about stress because we experience stress on a daily basis.

That’s why I spent the last few years writing and speaking about different ways to diminish our stress.

What came to me this morning was to talk about that third element, our spirit, which is my expertise above all else as an interfaith minister. Miracles happen when we allow our spiritual wisdom to take center stage in our daily life. Sickness diminishes, relationships heal and finances are no longer an issue.

I’ve been a chaplain in hospitals, I’ve done weddings, baby blessings and funerals, I’ve counseled individuals and couples and given talks on spiritual themes. I’ve done a lot of that kind of work.

And I’ve taught a metaphysical discipline, A Course in Miracles, and that’s what’s really informed my life-long spiritual process. The principles embraced by the Course are the spiritual underpinning of our current society. For example, a major tenet of the Course is the benefit of forgiveness. Here’s the cover of the latest Psychology Today:

I want to address our spiritual nature because it is the key persona to alleviate stress.

So if you want to be successful in your business and your relationships with family and friends and feel good about yourself, you want to be healthy, wealthy and wise, you must nurture the inner domain of your existence, your spirit.

Yes!  You need to value your spirit because that’s the missing link to minimize stress in your life!

Unfortunately, most people tend to diminish or not even think about their spiritual persona. In most business circles, all the emphasis is on the body/brain paradigm.

Our spiritual nature usually is not talked about in a positive light.

(Although it’s interesting, today I’m seeing a lot of coaches doing ‘spiritual’ coaching for businesspeople and I think that’s fantastic.)

That’s what we need more than ever and what I’ve been guided to do. Therefore, each week I’ll talk about some aspect of our triune nature. I would love, absolutely please feel free to offer, your suggestions, your questions, your comments about anything related to stress and/or the 3 aspects of our persona.

I’m also planning to invite guests to chat about any related topic. If you have some expertise you’d like to share, let me know!

I feel so strongly that this topic will be the most helpful thing I can do for you in order to create calm, creativity, and success in your life.

Love and Blessings,
